L-1a visa is issued to executives or senior managers of foreign companies planning to open a U.S. representative office. This visa allows you to transfer a manager to the U.S. to live and work at a branch of a foreign company.
By obtaining this visa, the employee also has the right to obtain L-2 visas for their immediate family – wife (husband) and/or children under the age of 21 (if they are unmarried). They will be able to legally come, live and work in the United States. One year after receiving the visa, the employee must submit the results of the company’s work in the U.S. to the migration service.
In the case of a positive result there is an opportunity to obtain an extension of the visa for 2 years and apply for a Green Card (Green Card). You can live and work in the U.S. on an L-1a visa for a total of seven years.
